how do I select two or more statspack snapshots so I can get “ADVICE” on a part of one of the statspack parameters like cpu usage
I have checked the snapshots but it says you have to select them not check them
Just click one (so it turns blue) then ctrl+click the one above or below it (so it is also blue).
Did that – selected 3 – the graph came up but no advice when I clicked the advice tab

No matter what parameter I select
When I do the two snapshots I always get
Snapshot interval too long.
Snapshot intervals greater than 30 minutes make it harder to identify noteworthy events.
Top Wait: log file parallel write
No advice on this event.

Well, then you are selecting two snapshots now. And your snapshot interval is more than 30 minutes (no big deal). And Toad doesn’t have any advice for the top wait event in that snapshot (in this case, log file parallel write). To be honest, we only have advice for a handful of wait events.
If you are having performance problems, the best course of action is usually to find the worst performing or most-frequently-executed query in that time period and focus on that.
