TOAD crashing consistently

I’m running Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit.

Just upgraded to TOAD 12.9.0.71 hoping that would deal with crashing, but still happens.

Initial connection when opening TOAD works no problem. Often when I connect to another database or as another user, TOAD crashes. Just about every time I close TOAD, either by hitting the red X or File… Exit, TOAD crashes.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no luck; nothing seems to work.

Any suggestions? I’ve searched high and low and haven’t found anything useful so far.

Thanks.

First of all, define crash. Do you get an access violation? Does it hang? If you get an AV, there should be a dialog that appears where you can get the call stack and send it to the group.

There may be an error log generated. If you have Toad.el located in your user files folder please post it. The appdata location is specified in Options on the General page.

Below is the error that appears in the popup box:

TOAD for Oracle has stopped working.

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
