And just like that bug that some users had when IE9 first came up, uninstalling the IE10 Windows Update is the quickie dirty ugly fix that has solved the problem.
Time for another bug report on MS channels?

Thank-you, Fernando, for the info about IE10. I uninstalled the IE10 update and now TDM is working! Did you install IE9 as a replacement to IE10 and if so, does your TDM still work?
Having uninstalled/reinstalled TDM a few times in an effort to get it to work, it seems that more than one installation file now exists in this path: C:\Users\knot22\AppData\RoamingQuest Software\Toad Data Modeler as follows:
In an effort to keep things cleaned up, can I delete one of these without causing problems? Currently, TDM is pointing to the Installation 3 folder, which can be seen in Settings > Options > Version Manager. What are the risks involved with deleting one of these folders?
Hi, when you install new version of Toad Data Modeler and start it for the first time, configuration data must be written to Users folder. You can either load settings from previously uninstalled version, or you can create new configuration. In your case, two configuration settings exist.
You should not delete the folder that contains active configuration (that seems to be the Installation 3 folder). Deletion of the other folder should not be a problem, but I recommend you to make backup.
More information about the files and configurations can be found in Installation Guide.
Regards,
knot22, when I uninstalled the IE10 Windows Update, it automatically reverted back to IE9 (after a restart, I think). And after that Toad was working again.
Hi, I contacted Microsoft, no public bug report has been recorded yet. Thank you all for your feedback!
