Toad Data Point 3.8 - Crashes when connecting to Oracle Database - Using tsnname.ora file

Hello,

I have migrated to a new computer and I am in the process of reinstalling TOAD. I was able to get my tsnname file load but now when I try to connect to the database it shuts down with out giving and error. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

You are probably on a newer OS. TDP 3.8 is pretty old. I have similar issue but use later versions of TDP instead. You could try Direct connect to Oracle to see if that works or ODBC.

Or look in execution trace.log and event viewer of OS to see what the complaint is about.

Thanks Debbie, I am on a new OS windows 10 I am able to Direct connect to the DB with no issues. I do know there is lost functionality when not using an Oracle instant client, do you know if it will be noticeable ?
