Toad for Oracle - Can't initialize OCI. Error -1

Toad for Oracle is installed in a Citrix environment. We are receiving the following error message, “Can’t initialize OCI. Error -1”.

We know the error is permissions related. If we grant administrator priviledges, we are able to successfully launch the TOAD application. However, it is not possible to allow administrator permissions as this introduces a security risk to our Citrix farm environment.

Is there product documentation available that describes the various permissions that are needed to resolve this error? Allowing administrator access is not an option.

Please check that you have downloaded the Toad version that corresponds to the Oracle Client you have installed.

Toad 32 bits <=> Oracle Client 32 bits

Toad 64 bits <=> Oracle Client 64 bits

Solution:-- Simple once.

Go to control panel>>Administrative tools>>Local Security Policies (Run this as a administrator)

Navigate to below Local Policies>>User Rights Assignment>>Create Global Objects

Add users windows ID by which he logged in to computer…

Apply>>OK

Now restart computer to take effect… That’s it…
