Hi I’ve used TOAD with Oracle databases for a number of years. Now, I’m
going to be working with MySQL databases in addition. I know there is a
version of TOAD for MySQL. Am I right in assuming I’ll have to run both
these TOAD versions separately? I can install and run both the versions
concurrrently without problem?
Yes, no problems.
Also, if you already have Toad for Data Analysts installed – part of Toad
for Oracle’s install package – then it already allows you work with
both Oracle and MySQL in a single window.
Toad for MySQL will have a bit stronger support for Admin and Dev…
Unfortunately, (unless someone knows a secret I am not aware of) you can not use
Toad for Oracle to access a MySQL database, though if I had my way…
The good news is that you can use both Toad for Oracle and Toad for MySQL at the
same time without issue (from my own personal experience)

Joseph, go check out toad for data analysts, it allows for access to both in one
window, and even allows you to query tables from both databases in a single
query. Included with Toad for Oracle.

Remind me again why I don't use TDA more?
Dropping into my launch bar, next to Toad for Oracle, Toad for SS, and
Spotlight SS...
Thanks!

The Compare Data feature in should be enough to push any Toad for Oracle user
into it just for a look-see.
