So I installed Toad for 14.1, I was surprised to see that my modifications to standard toolbars and menus weren't migrated over from 14.0. There are certain things that are just that important, and those changes are.
Is there a way to copy over those kind of preferences to the new version?
Hi David,
You can try going to Utilities -> Copy User Settings and then select the previous installation version. That should import your settings. If that doesn't work, you can also go to your previous installation's user files folder and copy the Toolbars.ini, Toolbars_Default.ini, EditorToolbars.ini and EditorToolbars_Default.ini files to your new version's User Files folder.
Feel free to let us know if these work for you.
Thanks,
-John
That worked well. Are the connections and options stored in a common area, but the toolbars in a personal area?
Hi David,
I'm glad to hear that worked! The toolbars were previously reset when doing automatic upgrades to newer versions to make sure new toolbar buttons or changes are accessible. Going forward starting with the Toad 14.2 beta, that will no longer be the case. Your toolbar changes will be retained and you will be notified when Toad starts if there are changes to toolbar or menu bar layouts.
