Frequently I'm going through the result sets from a query, and inadvertently pin the result set, which keeps the result set even when running a 2nd query.
Is there an option to remove the ability to pin a result set?

I kinda get what you mean, however it is not possible at this time. It is harder to hit the pin when the name of the tab is longer but I'm not sure this will help you as a workaround.
Can you post this idea to our idea pond so we could see how many people have this kind of issue?
