Cannot change Editor Background

I like a darker screen. Having downloaded ver.25.2, all settings are EXACTLY the same as my previous 6.4 installation, except for the Background color here. I want it to be black (0,0,0), but every time I change it it immediately reverts back to white. I’m stuck with the white editor background (which means I’m stuck using 6.4). Any suggestions?

I’m running TDP 25.2 (2025 R2) on Win 11 and was able to duplicate what you are reporting using what I could see in your screen shot. I use “Carmel” skin (Options>Interface>Look and Feel Skin) normally so I have white “paper” for Editor.

Tried to switch to darker color but no luck. Switched to a dark Metropolis skin and editor window remained white. No difference if I was using TDP as regular user or as admin. Didn’t try other skins. Might be worth trying the darker ones to see if any gets you what you want.

The editor window settings appear to be completely independent of the overall skin. I think that was always the case. But to set the editor background, it is here (screenshot of my 6.4 setup below, where I have the background set to black). But in 25.2, whenever I change that box it goes back to white (Window).

Hello, thank you for bringing this to our attention. The issue has been documented.
Currently, the workaround for using a dark editor background in Toad Data Point 25.2 is to select a skin that includes a dark editor by default (for example, DevExpress Dark Style).
