I’ve got a new Oracle database set up, and I cannot use the TOAD debugger on
it (everything greyed out, including “Toggle Compiling with debug” on the
Session menu).
It works for me in another database from the same edition of TOAD.
I have run Server Side Objects Wizard, DBMS packages are there.
I have compared grants and synonyms across the two schemas, no differences
(actually the ‘bad’ database has more grants and synonyms, so that shouldn’t
be it).
I have compared grants and synonyms across TOAD in both databases. The ‘bad’
one doesn’t have the CX stuff. But that’s Code Expert isn’t it? Shouldn’t
interfere with Debug.
I’m at a loss now. It can’t be a TOAD application setup, as it is the same
for each DB. I must be missing something from the DB, but I cannot work out
what.
Thanks for the advice. I had set this up, and I had all grants etc matching with
a schema that worked.
Then, as if by magic, the next day I logged in and it all works. And I had
logged off and on again several times the day before. Something configured
itself overnight, or something was pending something else.
Who cares? It works now.

Can you confirm you do indeed have this priv granted? It’s new for 10g+
