We recently upgraded to Toad Data Studio 2026 R2 and are having issues with code snippets.
After the upgrade, I configured the Code Snippets path to point to the same folder used in the previous version. However, none of the snippets appear in the Code Snippets panel.
To troubleshoot, I have:
- Verified the snippets path is pointing to the correct folder used in the prior version.
- Moved the snippet files to a local folder and updated the path.
- Moved the snippet files to a different network location and updated the path.
- Attempted to manually import the snippets.
Oddly, manual import only worked for the first 12 snippets. After that, additional snippets would not import, even though they are in the same format and location as the others.
Has anyone encountered this behavior in 2026 R2, or is there a known limitation or migration issue with code snippets?
It acts like the snippets are there, but nothing is visible to use. If I try and import them individually or in batch it says the file already exists...
Thank you for contacting us and for providing the troubleshooting details.
I tested this behavior using code snippets created for SQL Server. I created 13 code snippets in Toad Data Studio 2026 R1 and saved them. I then installed Toad Data Studio 2026 R2 and completed the automatic settings migration. All 13 snippets were successfully migrated and were available in the Code Snippets panel.
I also deleted the migrated snippets, created a new folder, and manually imported the same snippets. All 13 snippets were imported successfully.
At this time, I have not been able to reproduce the issue. To help us investigate further, could you please provide the following:
- The exact Toad Data Studio version and build number from which you upgraded
- The database platform or data source for which the snippets were created
- Whether the same 12 snippets are imported each time
- Whether any error or notification appears when importing the 13th snippet
- A sample snippet that imports successfully and one that does not
- The snippet folder location and whether it is local or on a network share
- A screenshot or short video showing the import process and the resulting Code Snippets panel
As an additional test, please try importing one of the snippets that previously failed into a new, empty Code Snippets folder. This will help determine whether the issue is related to a specific snippet or to importing multiple snippets.
