Although there are filters for each column in the Connection List, I think a generic search box could help a lot (it would search automatically in all columns, making finding the desired connection(s) much easier):

You know, I recently added something like that in the Session Browser and it has a nice feel. I'll try it here too.
One option you have now - click the toolbar button with the dropdown arrow, set it to "tabbed by server" or "tabbed by user". Then you'll get a filter panel for the tabs.
This will be in all data grids in Toad starting in the next beta.
It is turned off by default, but you can turn it on by right-clicking in the grid and checking "Appearance -> Search Box"
It searches across all columns, highlights matching text, and filters out rows that don't have a match. If you use in in the Editor or Schema Browser Data tab, it prompt to fetch all rows when you use it. It won't work unless all rows are fetched.
