File Shortcuts no longer processed (de-referenced and opened)

Used to work in 11. Create a windows file shortcut (.lnk) pointing to a .sql file in another folder. Toad: File>Open & double click the shortcut (which is shown when the filter is looking for .sql). Toad looks like it’s opening the file but it never appears. If I navigate to the file manually, it opens fine.

Tried searching for a prior thread but no good keywords

Hello Bill,

You are at the right place, although for some reason we all seemed to overlook your post. I can reproduce this issue using the new open dialog that was introduced
in Toad 12.1. In 12.5, which is currently in beta, you can turn off the new open dialog in favor of the old one, which is one way to work around this issue.

I will still log this issue and see if we can’t get it fixed.

Thanks,

Brad

Hey Bill,

I see where the difference is between the old and new dialogs. This issue has been fixed for the next beta a bit later this week. If you’d like, give it a try and let us know if you still experience this issue, or any others, on your end.

Thanks for catching this, and sorry we missed your original post!

Beta for 12.5 or 12.1x? If 12.5, would you consider adding it to the next 12.1 patch?
