Is there a setting that allows a script to run and I can continue working on another script at the same time, or modify the script that is running?
Unfortunately, now. When you execute a script, Toad needs to deal with the script as a whole and can’t simply run it in the background. As an alternate, you can either execute the script via Toad Script Runner or via SQL*Plus.
Not within Toad. You’ll need to execute it from another instance of Toad, TSR, or SQL*Plus. In the Editor click the little dropdown beside the execute as script
button. From there you can send your script to TSR to execute it externally. Toad is then free to work in.
