Toad's main menu and toolbar are pretty crowded. This is what I do to simplify it whenever I get a new Toad installed. I just wanted to put some ideas out there on how to make Toad look less complicated. You may not want to hide everything that I did. Do what works for you.
Edit: Oh, and I forgot - in the login window. I like to filter it to just connections made in the last 7 days. It keeps the list of connections to a manageable number.

I have to admit - I added that "last 7 days" filter for my own selfish purposes!
just saw your post, great idea. toad has so flexible as well as powerful. my simplified menu/toolbar for my 1920x1080 landscape screen:
biggest relief is in moving Commit way away from Rollback, and editor tab to the side, gaining as much screen back as possible.
