Imported named query (names)

Hi all,

Toad 12.8.0.49 (GA) and beta 12.8.0.28

After "copy user settings" in mine named queries I have beside name a label "Imported Names".

I would like to delete this and have only name (like I had before).

Played a little with SavedSQL.xml, but think that some official guide should be better-just do not want to destroy virginality of mine settings for some future import.

Damir, editing SavedSQL.xml directly should be done with caution and with Toad closed. There is no guide because it’s not a file intended for user modification. If the file becomes corrupt its contents will be overwritten by Toad. You can modify the file by modifying your saved SQL within the SQL Recall panel.

Named and Personal SQL of old are now lumped together as “Saved” SQL. The two were identical in the past with only the Name property being different. Toad 12.8 maintains your historical (Recent) SQL and saved SQL. It’s simplified and you can assign a name to saved SQL or not. The Category (label as you refer to it) is new for 12.8 and each saved statement exists within a category. At this time a category is required for all saved SQL. The default “Imported Named” is applied to Named statements from prior versions. Similarly “Imported Personal” is applied to old Personal statements. In the SQL Recall panel you can modify the category names and organize as you wish provided each statement has a category.

12.8 is very new so we’ll see what kind of feedback comes in, but if the category restriction needs to be lifted we can make it so.

Thanks,

Michael
