Hi william.gerken_156,

thanks for the log. It’s not a log generated upon freeze but upon the error of a third party component, which we cannot influence, unfortunately. From the log it looks like the error is thrown after closing a form, probably relationship according what you write.
We really want to get to the point with this issue, so if you could remember any other details or the steps just before the error, what you were doing at the moment and what tab of the form/dialog was active, it would probably help us to reproduce the error, because we are not able to reproduce it.

Thank you very much!

Regards,
Lukas

A few my words for this subject.

I noticed a lot of crashes while closing TDM. For example if I try to shut off an operating system, TDM ends up displaying infinity number of error requester with ‘Access violation’ message. The only way ho to kill it is to kill program process.

Sometimes TDM shows this message if I even touch it (TDM waits in background).

best regards

Hi Michal,

yes, there are still some issues throwing AVs. We’re trying to address them based on logs we get. Therefore, if you would want, you could send us EurekaLogs with these events, when you experience the AVs.
Any help in this way is highly appreciated!

Cheers,
Lukas

Curious, Lukas.

The error I posted is occurring fairly often, generally upon closing of a relationship edit dialog. Your relationship edit dialog, so I’m wondering at your reference to a third party component?

At this time it is the only error I’m experiencing with TDM - general freezing of the application is no longer a problem, or at least I’m not getting there anymore. Perhaps that’s the good news?

-Wil

of course, after mentioning the lack of freezing, it happens…

Hi Wil,

as I wrote before, “We really want to get to the point with this issue, so if you could remember any other details or the steps just before the error, what you were doing at the moment and what tab of the form/dialog was active, it would probably help us to reproduce the error, because we are not able to reproduce it.”
Can you remember if the AV is thrown when browsing through different relationships, or when having editted anything… We are trying to find some common features or hints which would tell us more.
And what database is it?

And thanks for the log. We will analyze it and I will let you know.

Thank you very much once more!

Regards,
Lukas

Wil, please, to make it clear and short, I need to know the following:

  1. For both AV and Freeze- What database is it? Or more databases?

  2. Which tab is active when closing the relationship dialog? Or does it happen no matter which is active or what you have been doing? (It seems to be a problem of Memo component viewing code in SQL Preview)

Thank you.

Regards,
Lukas

Hey Lukas,

If by database you mean type - my models are set up for SQL Server 2008?

The error editing relationships happens simply when changing the relationship name - as in open relationship properties, edit caption, click Apply, click OK. Strangely enough, it does not seem to happen when just click OK without first clicking Apply…

Or at least, not as often when skipping Apply…

Hi Wil,

Thanks for your information, we’re really close thanks to you. In fact, it’s a really complex problem. Will let you know soon.

Regards,
Lukas

That’s good news, Lukas. One other clue I have for you - if I minimize the relationship dialog, then close it using the X, the AV error does not occur.
