License Key Not Saved

I had to rebuild my machine after a blue screen of death. I reinstalled TDM 3.2.4.3, and installed the license key, and the Toad opened in the normal fashion. But I have to reinstall the license every time I run Toad. Moreover, ToadDataModeler_Beta_4.0.5.2 says that it can’t find the license.

I’m running Windows 7.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi,

Windows 7 is not a supported OS with Toad Data Modeler 3.2.4.3 and it searches in different directories that do not exist on Win 7. You will have to upgrade when want to use Windows 7.
There have been many releases since July 2008 when Toad Data Modeler 3.2.4.3 was released.

Lukas

Hi Lukas,

I don’t understand your response, given that Toad Data Modeler 3.2.4.3 ran just fine on Windows 7 for at least two years before I had to rebuild the machine.

I believe I had the same problem when I originally upgraded to Windows 7 from XP. Someone from Quest advised me how to fix the problem in one of these forums, but I can’t find that posting now.

I had been using the beta 4.1.1.4 version for several months before the blue screen of death issue (caused by a full disk encryption upgrade). Is there a work-around which will enable me to continue using the beta version under the license I have?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi,

there were various changes in licensing. Older versions worked with license files in a different way than newer versions of TDM. When Toad Data Modeler 3.2.4.3 was released Windows 7 was not officially supported that’s why the answer from Lukas is correct. BTW: Win 7 has different structure of user folders etc.

If you wish to use TDM 4.1 BETA on Windows 7, please upgrade TDM commercial first. Thank you.
