Location of Code Snippets and Code Templates files

Hello

I have added some entries to the “Code Snippets” and “Code Templates” files via TOAD Options window. I would like to

share this with my coworkers so my question is where those files are located and how to distribute them?

Thank you and best regards!

Obviously I am not clear enough. So, I have added some entries to the attached window via TOAD options window:

How can I share this entries with my coworkers ? Also can we use the same template file and how ?

Regards!

Aci,

AFAIK, these entries are saved in “LexLib.lxl” file (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\12.1\User Files).

So if you create a file link (mklink) which should point to some shared folder, this might be a workaround for your case.

Good suggestion – just note that as Mark Lerch (Toad dev manager) said recently running multiple copies of toad is problematic for file sharing reasons. So
there might be some scenarios where doing a link and sharing files could cause issues (e.g. lcoking/overwrites/etc). I think this one is pretty safe – just a caveat to keep an open eye for just in case

Bert,

I think that method you post with shared “User Files” folder might have more problems with locking then mine single file solution.

My blog is not for sharing the folder itself – for copy folder and/or its files from one place to another ???

Don’t just read the titles – read the content

Code Snippets are saved in a file called “CodeSnippets.dat”. Code Templates are saved in a series of .sql files. All of these files are located directly in
the User Files folder

Correction, Damir is correct about code templates, I thought you were referring to something else before I view your screen capture.
