Losing configuration at system crash

This has now happened several times, last time it was caused by my computer just switching off.

When starting TOAD again I got the following errors:

Internal error: Cannot load information contained in ...\MakeStripCode.dat
Internal error: Cannot load information contained in ...\CodeSnippets.dat

Afterwards, my stored passwords and configuration was gone too.

The err files just contain some NUL characters: CodeSnippets.err (34 Bytes)

This has now happened several times.
How can these files become corrupt? Does TOAD keep writing to them even though nothing changes?

This has just happened again (13.1.0.64).
System did not recover from hibernate, so I had to switch it off. I cannot imagine a reason for TOAD to have these files open at this point and corrupt them.

Any ideas?

Just happened again with 13.3.0.89 caused by a BSoD. TOAD was open but I was working with another application at that time.

This time without error message at startup, but Data Grid looks like this again (other settings are lost too)
