Mouse doesn't work properly in Editor

Toad v12

Windows 7 Enterprise

Dell pc i7

Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 7000

Has anyone else had trouble with the mouse being slow in the Editor? Do you know the problem and/or solution?

A wired mouse works fine. I have redownloaded the driver.

Help would be welcomed.

Holly

Hi Holly,

I fired up Toad v12 64-bit on my Dell Latitude E6430 (i7), running Win7 Pro – so pretty similar, but I have a Logitech MX Anywhere with the MS default drivers (I don’t like the Logitech ones). My Editor even has the performance-grabbing Code Analysis turned on, but I’m not seeing my mouse slow down.

Are you seeing your mouse pointer go slow? Is it on highlighting/copy/paste or just moving the mouse pointer around? How big is the file you’re editing? How much RAM do you have and how much is available?

While this is happening, if you could fire up Task Manager and go to its Processes tab and click on the CPU column header to sort by that, maybe we’ll see something that’s soaking up your CPU.

There used to be a performance-checker it Toad, but I can’t seem to locate it, ATM…

Let us know!

Ahhh…thanks Bert!

All of my performance-soaking items are “on” – which one would think a Core i7 should be able to handle.

Hi Rich,

Mouse pointer go slow? In the editor - I click in the code and then attempt to scroll down with the mouse wheel. It doesn’t not start scrolling right away and it scrolls slowly. It is a small file. Ram=16gb with 4gb being used. No

Does the slow scrolling also occur when clicking and holding down the down scroll arrow on the vertical scroll bar?
