Num Rows does not match Row count in Schema Objects

vers: Toad for Oracle 12.7.1.11

I have the Num Ros column displayed by default on my schema browser when looking at Tables and views. But I noticed that the number that is displayed under the Num Rows column is not always the same as when I right-click on the table and select the “Row Count” option. The number of record differences can be as high as 40 or 50 records. Has anyone else experienced this issue or know what is causing it?

Thanks

The value under “Num Rows” comes from DBA/ALL/USER tables – the result of the most recently collected statistics on the table. It’s not guaranteed to be 100% accurate, it’s just an estimate. You can set up Oracle to “Compute” statistics rather than estimate, but they are not automatically kept up to date with changes to the table.
