Hi all, I have a question.
everytime I open an .sql file in Toad (open with > Toad for SQL Server 5.6), it opens a new Toad instance. Is there a setting in Toad to open the file in the existing Toad instance?

Please double check this option status: Options\Environment\General\Allow multiple copies of Toad to run
In your case it should be unchecked.
