ORA-06550 on Reconnect after Data Guard Role Switch

I was connected to two databases--a Data Guard primary and its standby--then we performed a role switch after which I reconnected. After the reconnect, I get the following error popping up with every query (F9) in the session of the database that had been the primary but had become the standby. I could not immediately open a new session at that point but had to stick with the reconnected session.

It appears that TOAD does not detect that the reconnect was to a mounted database that had been open previously.

Hi Russ,

I'm not sure what we should do with that. Even if we did detect that the DB is now mounted instead of open - at best, we could just give you a different error message. Seems like you just need to disconnect at that point and then connect to the open DB. Or am I missing something?
