"Out of Memory" error on startup

Hi,
When I try to launch the Toad Data Modeler, it immediately gives an “Out of Memory” error. One of the threads suggested deleting the TDM.TXE file which I have tried but I still get the same error.
Any ideas please?
I have attached the “Start TDM3 Log.txt” file.
Thanks

Hi,

please try to locate you custom packages. Possible path:
C:/Documents and Settings/{user name}/My Documents/Toad Data Modeler/{Installation name}/Packages/{GUID}

  1. backup the folder
  2. delete content from the {GUID} folder
  3. start TDM again.

This seems to be a problem cause by custom package.

Regards,

Vaclav

Hi Vaclav
I tried that but when I try to launch TDM, I get the same “Out of Memory” error and it seems to re-create the files that were deleted.
Is there something else I can try?
I have attached the latest “Start TDM3 Log.txt” file.
Thanks

Hi,

this is strange. Please let me know:

  • what version of TDM you are using (installed as a stand-alone app or from some Toad bundle?)
  • what database systems you installed (during installation you can choose what databases should be supported. If you install TDM from Toad Bundle, Oracle can be selected by default and other databases might not be selected)
  • what type and version of your operating system is on your machine
  • do you use some virtualization

Also, please provide us with a list of system packages (possible path: C:/program files/quest software/toad data modeler/packages/system
You can send us information to modeling@quest.com

Thank you,

Vaclav

I have tried an uninstall, deleted any remaining TDM directories and then an install and I still get the same error. Very frustrating!

Hi,

we would like to find out where the problem is, but we really need more information from you. Can you answer the questions, please? Also, we would appreciate if you send us packages from both {GUID} and System folders:

  1. C:/Documents and Settings/{user name}/My Documents/Toad Data Modeler/{Installation name}/Packages/{GUID}

  2. C:/program files/quest software/toad data modeler/packages/system

Please send us content of both folders zipped to modeling@quest.com. Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Vaclav
