Hello,
Is it possible to save the visible columns and position on the session browser? All the time that i open session browser i need to click visible columns and add for example module and program columns and remove some information that i dont need. I would like to save what i chose.
Im using Toad for Oracle DBA Edition (64-bit)
Add-Ons: DB Admin Module
25.2.386.6575
Thanks
When you rearrange columns (by dragging) or show/hide (by right-click -> visible columns), your selections should persist automatically, but there are a few things that will cause it to not work:
-
do you have multiple session browsers open? If you open 2 session browsers, rearrange columns in one of them, close it, then close the other...the last one to close is the one to have its settings remembered
-
The same story if you have multiple Toads open. The last Toad closed will overwrite settings of the previous Toad closed
Hi John,
Thanks for your answer. I would like to persist when i close toad and open again, cause everytime i open , i need to open visible columns and choose what i need.
Thanks
Hi Nelson,
The Session Browser already behaves in the way that you are asking for. At least for most users it does. The visible columns and their positions is remembered after you close Toad and then re-open it (except in the cases that I noted above). I am not sure why this does not work for you.
This information is stored in the file C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\25.2\User Files\GUISettings\SessionBrowserTree.ini
You can look at that file with notepad after the Session Browser closes.
Some questions:
- Do you see changes being written to that file when the Session Browser closes?
- Are they still there after Toad is shut down?
- Are they still there when you restart Toad after that?
