Those are two different cancel buttons. The one that ‘works’ cancels
query execution or debugging or data retrieval (fetches).

The one on the grid ONLY cancels a fetch.

So if the query is executing but not fetching, it won’t be available on
the grid. If you start a fetch to retrieve more rows, like clicking on the
‘Last record’ toolbar button, then it will light up.

Or at least that’s my interpretation.
