Last week all of a sudden Toad was unable to open. I got a popup with a generic message:
"Toad for SQL Server has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I uninstalled a recent Windows update and Toad works fine.
I've re-installed and uninstalled a couple of times as a test and yup, the Windows update seems to be the culprit. This is a bad moment for Toad to be unavailable, so I'm tolerating it for now, but it isn't sustainable forever.
I'm using the most recent freeware version of Toad, but I also tried installing the full version (as a free trial) and had the same experience. I haven't tried Beta.
It's my understanding that the LTSB version is no longer supported so you will need the recent update, right?
Let us test the new update on Win 10 Enterprise with Toad and get back to you.
Hello! Have you been able to re-create the issue? If there is an incompatibility with the OS, I am surprised that others are not having the same problem.
I've been delaying Windows updates for some weeks, but I did let the most recent update through to see what happened, and the issue seems to be resolved. All tables and views connect fine and I was able to run a simple test query.
