SB - click on right-hand side code causes major performance problem

If I click on a package or a trigger (the only 2 I’ve tried) in .30 schema browser and then click on the code in the RHS, Toad becomes non-responsive and starts eating up memory like mad. Doesn’t seem to be related to the size of the code since the trigger I just clicked on is very small. I let it run for a couple hours the 1st time and, after using most of my PCs memory, it actually came back and the code had some strange formatting characters like CRLF.

Just to eliminate the possibility, is Team Coding enabled on this database?

No, have not yet delved into the Team Coding capabilities of Toad.

I can’t repeat this. Would you mind zipping up and sending me your user files folder? send to john.dorlon@quest.com

John identified the problem as mine and it's been fixed for the next beta. In the meantime if you set all of your capitalization effects to Unchanged in the Editor|Font and Styling options the issue will go away.

Thanks guys. I assume “next beta” is not the .31 that was released today?

Correct.

I went through and made some additional changes, mainly housekeeping work with minor improvements to functionality, but I'll throw it out there since you use the capitalization styling option. If you experience anything off let me know. It looks good in my
tests.

In .33 I reinstated my capitalization options, and it now takes around 3 minutes for Toad to respond when I click on a 5200 line package in SB. Greatly improved from the hours I waited before and doesn’t eat memory like before, but obviously not good. I’ll change the settings back until I hear from you that this is addressed.

I’ll take a look.

The next beta should have this one officially licked I think. I’m using a 10,108 line package body and responsiveness is snappy.

Thanks,

Michael
