Sorting Session Browser

I think the sorting behaviour in Session Browser when the data is grouped is different in the current beta (26.2.168.8691) vs 25.3.346.7343

In 25.3, if I group the data by machine, then click on the Logon_Time column header to sort by that, the machine groups stay in alphabetical order, and it's just the rows within the groups that get sorted.

In the current beta, when I click the Logon_Time column heading, the rows within the groups get sorted as expected, but the order of the group themselves changes.

Hi Paul,

When I do that, I'm not seeing the groups change order, only the rows within the groups. See the video below. Am I doing something differently? Can you post a screen shot of your Session Browser?

In my scenario, it automatically started out sorted by machine. I see in your video the machines begin out-of-sequence. Try clicking on the the Machine column header first

In your video, the order of the machine groups isn't changing, but what order are they in? Not alphabetical, I'd have expected the last one on the list to be at the top?

Or is there some other multi-level sorting option I've missed where we can say "sort by machine then logon-time" etc?

Oh. If you click the Machine column header first, then that column is sorted. Then, when you click the logon_time column header, the sort is removed from Machine and Logon_time is sorted. You can see this by the arrows in the column headers after you click them.

If you want to sort by one column, then add a secondary sort, hold down SHIFT while you click the 2nd column to sort by.

Ah ha, shift-click works, thanks!

Great. In the case of my video, the Machine column was not sorted at all. The only sort was on login_time
