Are these comparable products or totally different types of products? Does anyone have any document comparing these 2 products?
Hi, kt_dba. Great question. The 2 products are quite different in their purpose and goals, but I can understand your confusion. Foglight is a true, historical performance monitor. Spotlight is a real-time diagnostics tool for isolating issues as they are happening. Spotlight cannot tell you what happened last week, for example, while Foglight can. But, Spotlight is excellent at allowing you to dig in and find out the root cause of a deadlock or performance slow-down that’s happening right now.
Hope this helps. I’ve asked our marketing team if they have any side-by-side comparisons that I can point you to. I’ll update this thread if I find any.
