After a fresh install of the 32 bit 11G client, I get this the attached oci.dll error.
TOAD works fine but this error comes up on Spotlight startup.
Never mind folks. I figured it out myself. I used the following procedure:
Alternatively Spotlight has a command option to point to a specificlocation for OCI.DLL. For example, modifying the Target field
in the desktop icon to something like:
“C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Spotlight\Console\Spotlight.exe” OCIDLL =C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\BIN\OCI.DLL
It worked great.
Well, maybe not so great. However, after it threw the Cannot resolve TNS, I added the TNS_ADMIN variable to the environment and pointed it at the Client directory. Then it worked.
