I upgraded to 12.8 yesterday and then also installed the 12.9 beta. Today, I have gone to my Sql Recall to retrieve a statement I know I ran last week but it wasn’t there - my Sql recall shows entries from today, yesterday, a couple on 3rd November and then nothing until 27th July! It’s the same in 12.8.0.49 but when I look in the old beta (12.8.0.27) it’s all there.
I also created a Named Sql during the 12.8 beta program and that has also gone from 12.8.0.49 and the 12.9 beta.
I’m not sure if this is intentional (i.e. sql run during the beta program is not retained) or if it is a bug.
I remember that there was a bug during 12.8 beta testing that meant that Sql Recall wasn’t being saved correctly and that was late July which corresponds to the jump I’m seeing in the history now - is it related to this?
Can my Sql Recall history be restored from the 12.8 beta config files?
I haven’t had a chance to get anyone not using the beta program upgraded to 12.8 as yet, so I can’t confirm if the issue is related purely to beta users or not but I will update when I get the chance if necessary.
Mark.
Do you have any filters applied? On the SQL Recall toolbar there's a button with a funnel on it, the same used for Schema Browse filtering. If it is red then a filter is applied. Click the dropdown beside it and remove the filter.

No - I have no filters applied.
Did you copy SavedSQL.xml from your beta user files to your new installations? By default Toad is going to migrate user files from the prior GA, not the beta.

That would explain it - I didn’t do any manual copying - it never crossed my mind. Maybe it should be an option if the new install detects a beta to select where to take the user files from?
Are there any other files I should be copying from my 12.8 beta directory or is it just the SavedSQL.xml that I need?
Thanks.
You can use Toad's Copy User Settings feature to copy files from another version. You won't get the complete set of configuration files that way, unfortunately.
If you want your beta config files your safest bet is to close Toad, delete all files and folders from your 12.8 GA and 12.9 beta appdata folders and copy the files/folders from your 12.8 beta appdata folder to those locations.

OK, I’ve done that and my SQL recall is back, thanks!
