Studio 2026R1 Keyboard customization missing

In the latest version of Toad Data Studio 2026 R1 v26.1.0.41146 (64 bit) the "Keyboard" panel of Tools->Options->Environment seems to be missing. Per documentation, this is where it should be:
https://support.quest.com/technical-documents/toad-data-studio/2026%20r1/release-notes/keyboard-options
In fact, that's the same place Keyboard customization always was in Toad Data Point. When I went to check my memory on this, I spotted that along with Keyboard, a few other Options → Environment menu items were missing (comparing TDP to Studio): Desktops, Transform and Cleanse, and Security. These others weren’t ones I ever used much, but I figured if Keyboard was inadvertently removed, perhaps these were as well.
I’m not sure if this is applicable, but the issue was observed while using the Free 30-day Trial version of Studio (and it may be that some options were deliberately removed in the trial version). Lastly, if this is not reproducible for others, let me know and I can try uninstalling/reinstalling to see if it was an installation fluke on my end.

One more update - it seems this is most definitely a UI bug. I was able to create & modify a custom keyboard in TDP, then phyiscally copy the custom-keyboard “mykeys.xml” from the Keyboards directory of TDP runtime directory to the ToadStudio runtime directory, and point “keyboardBindings” in Data Studio Settings.xml file to “mykeys” (in same fashion as TDP had done to its Settings.xml), and my custom key strokes worked perfectly well when I restarted Data Studio.

Hi Kevin and welcome to the Toad forums,
Thanks for the detailed feedback and especially validating the behavior and sharing the workaround.
The information in our Release Notes about Keyboard setting was actually published prematurely. We’re planning to include the Keyboard, Desktop and Security settings in our upcoming May/June release. The other settings: Transform and Security are not applicable to TDS as those features are not included in the product. Here’s a screenshot of our upcoming release:

Also please keep in mind your trial edition includes all features and configuration settings as the commercial edition, so what you're seeing is not related to trial limitations.

Regarding the workaround using the XML files, thanks that’s a great validation. In an upcoming release, we plan to simplify this by enabling keyboard shortcut migration from TDP and other products directly through the UI.

Sorry to cause any confusion and we will get the documentation corrected. Thanks and let us know of any other feedback or questions.
