While testing an existing and valid DB Link, the “ORA-01086: savepoint ‘DBLINKTEST’ never established in this session or is invalid” message is returned.
Appears to be a TOAD bug.
Any ideas on the correction?

There are not many;
In the Schema Browser, choose DB Links for the object type.
Select a public DB Link. In my case, the issue is specifically with links that point to a SQL Server DB.
Click on ‘Test Database Link” button.
Wait a few seconds
See the error in a dialog box.
My thinking is that the test script
Is attempting to create a SavePoint and either can’t but continues to a later step that throws the error
never creates the SavePoint and a rollback to the non-existent SavePoint throws the error.
I’m logged on to an Oracle account that has DBA privileges.

It works without error when the DB Link connects to Oracle, but your guess below about what is happening is correct. I am surprised that no error is thrown
when we execute the query to create the savepoint. I’ll make a change so that the rollback error is ignored.
