One thing about Guinness is this warning:

DON’T DRINK THE FROTH!

It is, apparently, highly bitter. You have to drink the stout through
the froth.

As told to me by an Irish Guinness maker!

Cheers,
Norm. [TeamT]

Don’t buy a 4 pack.

Find an Irishman who knows how to pour a proper pint out of a tap…otherwise
you’re not really drinking Guinness.

It’s worth waiting a few weeks J

I am wondering if it’s possible to edit data in the data grid of the
Editor Window the same way as I edit data in the Data Tab of the table. Tried
changing the options around, but no luck so far.

I am using 9.7.

You need to include the rowid in your query to be able to do this

A toad ‘trick’ is to execute

Edit and execute with F9

Wow.

Thanks a lot, I did not know about edit…

Is there a reason why commit/rollback buttons on the data grid itself are
disabled? I do see insert/delete/post/cancel buttons now.

I don’t know why they are disabled…but I was able to COMMIT my
posted change by using the main toolbar COMMIT button.

Fortunately I added comments to the code in that area.

It’s a context level commit that is only enabled when you have threaded
queries enabled and an active threaded session created for that Editor tab. When
you are not using the threaded queries option the main Toad commit/rollback is
used.

Comments in code? What a cool idea!

Yes, it worked for me as well by using the main commit. Thanks.

Real Programmers don’t comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be
hard to understand.

{ How do they work in Delphi then? }

Thanks.

I did play with the threaded query option before, but it did not make any
difference. Do you know if I need to restart TOAD after this change? Is it the
‘Execute Queries in threads’ option?
