TOAD 10.6 Reinstall

Win7 64-bit
TOAD 10.6

I’ve had some issues with TOAD/Spotlight not liking the 'Program Files(x86) in the path. Some functionality doesn’t like the “(” brackets in the path…

So, I’ve tried deinstalling / reinstalling into c:\quest software instead.

The deinstall doesn’t tidy up very well - leaves lots of files/registry entries around. Anyway deinstall ‘completed’ okay.

On reinstall, first issue - it thinks "Knowledge Expert’ is already installed, so doesn’t allow an install of this product…

Okay, ignore that for now… continue with (re)installl… Specified location as C:Quest Software… install completes. Notice didn’t ask me for my License Key.

Tried using TOAD - connects okay to oracle db, seems okay…

Tried using Spotlight - problem! : “The required product is not installed on this system. Contact Quest Software…”

Ideas?

How to clean up Windows after deinstalling TOAD, so that the reinstall works!?
(Tried deleting any references to “Quest” files, checked through the registry, rebooted, etc)… btw - I hate windows

quick update:

I’ve reinstalled for the nth time - this time back into C:\Program Files(x86). Spotlight now works… Still having connection issues. In particular to ASM - which doesn’t like the “(” in this path for sure…

How about trying the install into c:\program files x86.

Works fine on my end. Windows will tell you the directory doesn’t exist
but will allow you to create it and install to it.
