Hi Armand,
Okay, Windows 7 is good.
The reason I asked the second question was because Toad 12.5 with a valid commercial (non-trial) key is required in order to use Toad 12.6 beta. Also, if Toad
12.5 has been successfully installed, run, and licensed, that gives some additional information about the read/write status of your roaming app data folder. Your second and third answers seem to contradict themselves. Were you able to successfully install
and run Toad 12.5?
The errors you’re receiving suggest perhaps one of following:
-
The installation folder somehow got corrupted either during or after the installation.
a.
There should be a “ClientFiles” folder underneath Toad 12.6’s install folder which has additional files and subfolders.
b.
If these files and/or folders are missing, you might need to reinstall the beta.
-
Toad was unable to create its subfolders underneath your roaming app data folder.
a.
For Windows 7, the base app data folder will typically be located in: c:\users<username>\AppData\Roaming\Dell\Toad for Oracle
b.
If this folder doesn’t exist, try manually creating the subfolders. If you aren’t able to create them, or you receive prompts to enter a password
to make changes to that folder, then there is a permissions issue on your computer. Try right-clicking the Toad icon and selecting “Run as administrator”.
-
Toad was unable to copy its required files (from option 1 above) to your roaming app data folder.
a.
Perhaps try right-clicking the Toad icon and selecting “Run as administrator”, even though your account may have administrative privileges.
If none of these issues solves your problem, I would try reinstalling the beta. Let us know if anything here solves your problem.
Thanks,
-John

What operating system are you running Toad on? WINDOWS 7
-
Were you able to successfully install and run Toad 12.5 GA? WAS NOT TESTING 12.5.
-
Do you have any restrictions placed upon your computer by your IT department? I am sure I do but I am an administrator on my laptop. I also install your public releases
to my laptop without errors.
-
Do you already have a Dell folder within your roaming profile directory? Is the folder, or any files in that folder, read-only? No Dell folder in my roaming profile.

When I installed the program then double clicked on the icon to give it a go, I ended up getting an error message.
Toad cannot update its client files Details. No Details listed.
Then I got another error message that said:
Toad has encountered an unexpected error. Details: Unable to create directory.
