Toad Cannot update its client File

I have updated the path in Toad Options screen, going to the “General” settings and press the “Open Folder” button for the “Application Data Directory”.

From that point I am not able to open TOAD. I am getting an error as “Toad Cannot update its client File”.

Can anyone help me to revert it to, so that I can open toad.

Toad 12.6

Did you set the Application Data Directory to a directory that exists? Do you have read/write access to that folder?

You should be able to go into your %APPDATA%\Dell\Toad for Oracle and edit the SettingsLocations.ini file

You can either try to fix the AppData setting or just delete that line and it will go to the default location

Look in Utilities > Copy user settings and see if there is anything in there that can help you. If you use any of these features and get an error, you will probably want to shut down Toad, reboot your machine, then try again.
