Did you set the Application Data Directory to a directory that exists? Do you have read/write access to that folder?
You should be able to go into your %APPDATA%\Dell\Toad for Oracle and edit the SettingsLocations.ini file
You can either try to fix the AppData setting or just delete that line and it will go to the default location

Toad Cannot update its client File
Thread created by leela_kishore
I have updated the path in Toad Options screen, going to the “General” settings and press the “Open Folder” button for the “Application Data Directory”.
From that point I am not able to open TOAD. I am getting an error as “Toad Cannot update its client File”.
Can anyone help me to revert it to, so that I can open toad.
Toad 12.6
Oracle 11.2g
