Toad Editor Pauses

While editing files that are more than a few thousand lines long I have noticed that the Toad Editor will frequently pause for a couple seconds. It appears like it is shuffling memory around though that is just a guess.

I am running Toad for Oracle 2024 R2 but I have noticed this in the last several releases.

Do you know what causes this and is there anything that can be done about it?

Maybe it's the backup engine? That should be pretty invisible, but it does happen every 3 minutes by default.

Maybe it's Code Insight? You could try unchecking Auto-Invoke, then just do a CTRL+T when you want it to appear.

Probably not auto-replace, but if you don't use this feature, you could reduce processing by disabling it.
