Toad for Oracle has stopped working

Hi.

I have installed the Toad for Oracle 10.5.1.3 version on a Win 7 x64 box. First time I start it it, import settings and it works fine. Second time I start it, it crashes giving me the error message in the subject line of this post.

I can only get Toad working again if I rename the folder C:\Users<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\10.5 to 10.5_uninstalled, start up again and import settings. I’ve tried to not import settings, but copy my connections manually. This works, but Toad will crash again after second startup.

Is there a log anywhere I can inspect to see what causes the crash?

Try doing the following it might help;

Change the Compatibility mode for TAOD on your computer by right clicking on the toad short cut -> Properties. From the resulting dialog click on the Compatibility tab, tick the check box against Run this program in compatibility mode for. and select for example Windows Vista Service pack 2.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Regards

Joe
