I currently have Toad for Oracle 11.5 installed and it was working perfectly till the application became unresponsive. I had to kill the application using Task Manager and after that Toad does not launch
You can manually reset Toad to a "like new" condition by renaming this folder in windows:
- C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle
- Start Toad.
- That folder will be recreated.
To copy your connections back:
- Close Toad
- Copy from Connections.* from C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle (renamed)\11.5\User Files to the same location in the new folder.
Thank you replying.
I renamed the 'Toad for Oracle' folder, but how do I execute step2 (Start Toad). I tried to right click open or double click.
If you renamed the folder that I specified in step 1 and Toad still does not start, then I think some external process may be blocking it. Maybe a change in your antivirus scanner? Maybe a change in privileges or security on your PC?
Older versions of Toad (such as yours) have had problems with default printers which are inaccessible. You could try uninstalling all of your printers, and see if that fixes it. If Toad starts working, reinstall the printer(s) that you need....one by one, if there are more than one of them.
