I was considering buying the full version, when I saw that the price will gain me access for the full edition only for 12 months.
I think it’s a bad practice, pushing users to other products.
I think that giving a lifetime license at even cheaper price ( I think 230$ is really high) , and having users pay only for major upgrade after the first 12 months is a much more acceptable approach.
Thus - the customer knows the money he spent will keep it’s value, and if he wants new feature after 12 months, he pays a maintenance fee (around 20% of a full price) .
you can offer bundles for maintenance in advance.
