User Filter

It would be a nicety to have one of the feature options in the User list
of the Schema Browser to only show those users who own objects. I know
that is available in the Export (or Datapump?) wizard, but it would be a
nice addition to the Schema Browser.

I’m just sayin’…

That feature is in there – under the main menu you will find a user filter
setting/screen and it offers exactly that and several other useful combinations

View > Options > Schema Browser

Setting to configure just this, or even limit to those who own objects not
including synonyms

Arsk and ye have received. J In my 9.7 Toad it’s Options/Schema
Browser/Data/radio button under User/Schema Lists.

Have a great weekend!

All good and well, and I knew about this, but it seems to me that this would be
a filter item instead of a setting. As a DBA I have to maintain users, so
sometimes I want to see all users, and other times only the users that have
objects. Just seems more like a filter than a setting.

David, The option that others have mentioned affects the schema name drop-downs
in the SB and other places in Toad. It does not affect the list shown in the
USERS tab. I will add what you have requested to the filter, assuming that I can
figure out a way to squish it into the gui. In the meantime, as a
workaround, I guess you know that you can edit the query which populates the SB
LHS. Just open the filter dialog, click ‘custom filter’, then OK,
and it should be obvious after that. -John

Thanks, John. Just seemed like a logical filter choice, kind of like the
“Through DB Link” choice on synonyms. – David A. Hicken UtahToad at gmail

I realize this isn’t the beta group, but your request will be in the next
beta. If you have Toad 10.5 installed, you can get the beta here:

I opened a describe objects window for a table, then clicked on the filter icon.
Then I moved my focus outside of Toad. Now when I click on Toad the filter
window flashes then disappears behind the descriibe objects window. I’ve tried
alt+tab to see if I could get it to come forward, but no luck and I can’t use
anything else in Toad because it’s waiting for the filter window to be answered.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the report Wendy,

I can reproduce this in 10.6. It has been fixed in the beta.
