What Oracle client software to install before TOAD for Windows 7 64 bit?

Hi everyone,

This is a new installation of TOAD for Oracle.

Platform: Windows 7 64 bit.

Situation: we don’t have any Oracle client software installed on this machine. In other word, there is no Oracle home.

Question: what Oracle client software I should install before I install TOAD for Oracle?

Please advise.

I actually got the answer myself.

Software name: Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Client (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64)

Actually, you want the 32 bit version regardless of what kind of
windows you use. Toad only works with 32 bit clients for technical
reasons. The database itself can be 64 bit, but if toad is installed on
the same box as the database, you'll need to install a 32 bit client in
addition to the 64 bit client that is installed with the database.
