2025 R3 How to change bakground color of current editor tab

Hi,

In the editor, there are multiple tabs, and each tab displays the name of the file currently being edited. What distinguishes the active tab from the others is that its background color is different. In my case, it is very difficult to distinguish the active tab from the other tabs. How can I change the background color and font of the active tab?

The color of the active tab is not configurable.

You can, however, change the tab style, and some tab styles have more contrast. "UltraFlat" has good contrast, and it matches the style of the tabs at the bottom (messages, data grid, trace, etc).

This is something we addressed for version 26R1. The default settings will still be "Default" but it will have the look of "UltraFlat".

I like that OneNote tab style.

I noticed in trying various tab styles that some of them do not honor my dark theme for the background of the tab bar. It goes white across the screen except for the tabs themselves. The ones I noticed doing this were ExtraFlat, UltraFlat, and Office11.

Cheers,
Russ

Thanks Russ. I can reproduce those and will fix.

Installed 2026 R1 version and It is still difficult to distinguish which editor tab is the active one.
I am using Document tab style: UltraFlat.

Which color theme is that?

it's easy to tell which tab is active when no color theme is applied. Sometimes with the color themes I need to tweak things. Below is the "out of the box" look, but I can probably fix it for your theme.

Where can I find it?
