I realise that I’m probably being very dim, but I’ve just downloaded and installed Toad for Oracle Freeware v12.5 (32-bit) and now it wants an authorization code.
All free clues gratefully received.

Something is very odd there...that is not only not freeware but it looks like a pre-9.0 version

Hi Ian,
That looks like an old version of Toad. Are you sure you downloaded 12.5? What version appears when you select Help -> About, or when you right-click on the
executable and go to “Properties -> Details”?

Hi John
It’s the version at http://www.toadworld.com/m/freeware/43.aspx. My Firefox downloads tells me it’s Dell_Toad_for_Oracle_12.5_Freeware.msi, though you may be right about versions. I inherited this machine (when I started this job yesterday) and there was a version on it which no one could find the licence for. I downloaded the above version and installed it and I think it’s got itself hooked up to the old version.
I’ll have a poke around and expect that will be the problem.
