You should always see the values in the summary area… Does this happen all the
time or in specific circumstances ? Are you selecting a large number of cells?
If you provide some specific steps I can will try to re-create.
(I know, a VERY late response, but this is describing exactly what I'm still seeing today in 16.2)
I'm quite curious to know what the "Doh ... found it!" edit was about, I'm seeing this:
Quite often I don't even see anything because the grey area is shifted too far too the left (black area too large); thx for your "copy to clipboard" comment, I didn't think of that workaround!
My best guess is that it's related to having multiple displays with different scaling settings; I need to edit the TOAD shortcut, and set Compatibility / Change high DPI settings / High DPI scaling override to "Application" or my interface misbehaves.
I've never seen the text shifted to the left like that.
Which version of Toad are you using? On 16.2 and newer you shouldn't have to override the high DPI settings. On older versions, I've found that "System (Enhanced)" gives the best results. On 16.2, it's set to that internally.
Sorry John, I edited the 16.2 in while you were typing
I have two displays set to 125%, one to 100%. I don't see any difference in 16.2 with before, to be honest... I tested all settings (see highlighted line), but Application still looks the crispiest to me:
Did you take those screenshots on the 100% display or the 125% display?
My primary monitor is at 100%, my secondary is 200%.
If I run Toad on primary, I really don't see any difference between these settings.
If I run Toad on my 2ndary, "Application" makes all the text very small.
For now, I think I'll just try to solve the text-moving problem.
Oh my, now I feel so stupid for not noticing that scrollbar , this explains the original poster's "Doh … found it!" comment .
Looks like I never moved around while I had calculations done (and apparently often in cells quite far to the right)... good catch, I just didn't expect that bar to be affected by scrolling. Happy to see this addressed in a future version
