Cannot execute another query after I see "Data Set Closed"

Hello,

I have been using SQL Navigator more than 5 year, this new version (7.x) has some feature or issue that I am not aware of. Not sure when this displays “Data Set Closed” at the footer of the application . After that I cannot execute any scripts.

It drives me nuts, that for each script, I have to open another session.

What am I doing :

  • Write a simple select

  • highlight and the press “F9”

  • Then after few runs it displays this message (my session is active)

After i try in my envi, i could not reproduce. Could you provide more information about this issue? or attach the pictures when you get this issue.

Just got the same problem in 7.0.1 this morning. Had to “close” every statement with the STOP button. Closing and re-opening the Navigator solved the problem.

Hi Martin,

Could you have a try to follow these steps:

  1. backup your user profile. (%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\SQL Navigator 7.1.0), then delete it

  2. open Registry, backup HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Quest Software\SQL Navigator 7.1.0, then delete it

  3. reopen Nav, click on cancel button for using new profile and layout

Retry your issue steps again, to see if still have problem
