When I minimize a window/tab that I’ve dragged out from a Describe Objects
screen, it shrinks and disappears toward the taskbar. And stays disappeared. L
The only way I’ve learned of to find it is to click the “Reclaim a
dragged-out object” icon and bring it back into the Described Objects
screen.
Is there someplace else I should be looking or some setting I need to change?

When I minimize one, it goes here. I can double-click that to restore it.

From what I can see so far, if I don’t have “Stay on top”
checked, it minimizes behind the taskbar. I had unchecked the box because I was
having conflicts with Outlook. With the box checked, when I would click on
Outlook in the taskbar, Outlook would flash on the screen and disappear again.
Another click or two would bring it to the foreground. Now that I have the box
checked again the problem doesn’t seem to repeat itself.
I’m so confused, and it’s only Monday. L

when you drag the window out, are you dropping it onto your desktop or within
Toad? If within Toad, you should have a toolbar button for it. When I drop it on
the desktop, I’m still seeing the minimized window as show in my
screenshot.

If I have “Stay on top” checked, the first time I F4 describe an
object a new window opens. I can drag out a tab from there to the desktop. If I
minimize the Describe Objects window, I see the same as you. If I minimize the
dragged out tab, it disappears.

the screen shot I sent was a minimized dragged out tab. I’m not sure why
it’s acting differently for you.
I’m not sure if either of these will help, but….
I do see it disappear if I minimize Toad. It comes back when I restore Toad.
If I already have another window taking up that space in the lower left corner
of my screen, the minimized Toad window will be in front of it, but if I click
the other app, the minimized Toad window will go behind.

Oh well. Thanks for looking into it. We shall chalk it up to “the
gremlins” – and someday they will go away.
I have other more pressing challenges to deal with – and they’re not
Toad. J
Thanks again,
